Welcome to Camels Hump Coders!
2026-2027 Season: "BioBuzz!"
We are a middle and high school robotics team from Huntington, Vermont, participating in FIRST® Tech Challenge (FTC).
Our Team
Hello! We're the Camels Hump Coders, a group of middle and high school students from Huntington, Vermont. We all love to build, create, and invent. Our team competes in FTC, FIRST® Tech Challenge, an international program where students develop skills in design, engineering, programming, communication, and community outreach. Each year, teams receive a new challenge and build and code a robot to compete. One of our teammates had experience with the younger league (FIRST® LEGO® League or FLL) and wanted to form his own team. He asked his group of friends if they were interested and they agreed. We officially formed the team in 2023 and since then we have made some amazing accomplishments in FLL. However we are now moving on to FTC and are excited to see what we can accomplish in the future!
Great Moments
What is FIRST® Tech Challenge?
FIRST® Tech Challenge, or FTC, is a robotics program for students ages 12–18. Guided by coaches and mentors, teams design, build, program, and operate a competition robot for a new challenge released each September.
At events, teams compete in fast-paced matches. Robots complete game tasks both autonomously and manually, so success depends on mechanical design, programming, strategy, testing, communication, and teamwork. Each year teams build a new robot of a reusable kit.
- Designing and fabricating a durable robot within the season's rules
- Programming autonomous and driver-controlled actions using motors and sensors
- Testing, troubleshooting, and improving the robot through an iterative engineering process
- Documenting and presenting the team's engineering decisions to judges
- Building connections through outreach, fundraising, and team communication
